SBLive!Ö 3.0 is currently
in beta testing and because of that, unexpected errors may occur.á
If you are using SBLive! 3.0 and are experiencing problems we recommend
that you run the game using the default sound.dll. If you experience any
problems with EAX or A3D sound in Soldier of Fortune,
You are John Mullins, a
professional consultant with a long combat record and a reputation for getting
the job done when the worldÆs governments cannot.á You have learned that ôThe Order,ö a bloodthirsty worldwide
terrorist organization, has stolen four nuclear weapons from a poorly guarded
weapons facility in the former Soviet Union.á
Your mission: Uncover The OrderÆs secret plans, stop them and bring their
leader to justice.
JOHN MULLINS
- Born and raised in Southwest Oklahoma, Mullins served three tours in Vietnam,
earning three Purple Hearts. He was also a member of the controversial PHOENIX
group created to assassinate high ranking Vietcong officers. Mullins retired
from the military to become a æconsultantÆ, or Mercenary, 12 years ago. He
now takes jobs from the U.N. Anti-terrorist group called The Shop. With a
medium build, Mullins boasts strength and speed that few men possess.
AARON "HAWK"
PARSONS - Grew up in inner city
Detroit and later fought in Desert Storm. Parsons is considered one of the
army's best demolitions specialists. He is frequently partnered with John
Mullins on jobs coming from The Shop.
SAM GLADSTONE - Bookstore owner and part-time employee of The Shop.
A Captain in Vietnam, Gladstone excelled at recon, later spending several years
with the CIA. 62 years old. Bearded.

Click
on the Multiplayer icon in the Main menu to take you to the Multiplayer menu.
This menuá consists of multiple sections
that allow you to configure your player, join a server, set up your own server,
log on to WON multiplayer services and customize your multiplayer options.
ááááááááááááááááááááááááááá
This
sub screen allows you to choose the model and skin for your player model for
the purposes of multiplayer gaming.á The
three icons at the top of the screen allow you to choose the Configure Player
menu, the Local Multiplayer menu and the WON Multiplayer menu.
This
sub screen allows you to configure your options for starting a local, nonûWON
supported multiplayer game.á Choose from
the following options:
Join A Local
Server û
This
sub screen shows available servers running Soldier of Fortune on the Internet.
The top section shows the name of the server (e.g. BobÆs Arena of Death),
average ping (speed of connection), game type (e.g. Assassin, Arsenal), map
name (e.g. Sibdm1), and number of players in each displayed server. Clicking
the Refresh button will refresh the server list, removing cancelled servers and
displaying new ones. Right-clicking your mouse on a server on the list will
show you the serverÆs properties and the names of the players currently in the
multiplayer game.
This sub screen allows you to set up your own multiplayer game server. Enter a hostname for your server (e.g. BobÆs Arena of Death) and adjust the settings to your liking. You can set time limits, frag (kill) limits, multiplayer game type (see note below), and maximum number of clients (players) you want to be able to join your game. Cycle through the List File Selection to choose a multiplayer map.
Note: If you want
no limits, set frag and time limits to zero. The maximum number of clients is
32, but 16 is the recommended maximum for optimum networking performance.
Multiplayer game types included in the DEMO are as follows:
Deathmatch
û
Standard multiplayer mayhem where every player is out for him or herself: Take
the other players out before they take you out.
